Community Events Recently, and for the 3rd time, Dr. Harvey J. Gardner provided hearing screening tests to employees of the world-famous Cold Spring Harbor Labs, Rte 25A. Over 35 people were tested and counseled regarding their findings.
Dr. Gardner Lectures Seniors
Dr. Harvey J. Gardner recently lectured participants during a free hearing screening for seniors held at the Dolan Family Health Center. The screening was cosponsored by the Huntington Hospital and Huntington Hearing. More than 40 individuals had their hearing tested. Dr. Gardner pointed out that nearly 90 percent of those over the age of 80 have a hearing loss, and that of the 25 million Americans of all ages who need hearing aids only five million use the devices. "If these folks would only take advantage of our no obligation demonstration of their effectiveness and virtually undetectable appearance, resistance to their use would likely be replaced by enthusiastic acceptance" he said.
